When I’m meeting someone new, I’m always a bit sensitive about how quickly I reveal my hunting addiction hobby. It’s not that I’m embarrassed or ashamed in any way, but I understand that there are some people who just haven’t had the opportunity to hunt and may not fully understand it.
I love the opportunity to explain the challenge and thrill of hunting. I love to explain that I’m not just out to kill animals or to get some big trophy. Of course I wouldn’t mind a trophy bull or buck, but I emphasize how I feed my family. I respect and treasure the outdoors and the natural resources I explore. I explain how I hunt ethically and responsibly. I explain my joy and passion for hunting in hopes that others can understand and be interested as well.
I know I won’t convince everyone….and I’m not going to try. But I can tell you I’m proud to be a hunter. Can’t wait to get out there again!
