Interesting Details of the Hunt: Hiked up from about 9,500 ft to just over 11,500 ft. Didn’t see anything until just at 11,000 ft. Very steep terrain. Found a convoy of about 6 blue grouse that were feeding in a lightly wooded area (pine trees). Shot the first bird and then had the opportunity to shoot at two others before they all flushed and flew (downhill of course). After that group I didn’t see any other birds going up the rest of the way or coming down from the top.

I had a .22 with open sights.  If I would of had a scope could of had my limit of 3 birds for the day.
