Want to hunt elk? There are a number of great options out there. Here is my unofficial list of top 10 states to hunt elk:
- Colorado
- Wyoming
- Utah
- Idaho
- Montana
- Arizona
- New Mexico
- Oregon
- Nevada
- Washington
I must admit that this list may change. Even my #1 choice is questionable and up for debate. Colorado definitely has the most elk and provides hunters with one of the best opportunities to bag an elk, with generous over-the-counter tags and lots of public land. However recently more trophy elk have been coming out of places like Utah and Arizona. As elk populations continue to grow, other states may produce a better possibility to hunt elk.
